Since I last wrote we've been fairly busy! We spent a couple of nights in Hervey Bay, before heading off to Fraser Island, which was amazing. We hired a 4x4 to get around the Island, which was great fun, as it meant we could drive on the beaches. The weather wasn't all that great, but we survived torrential rain and hurricane like winds and it cleared up pretty much every time we stopped somewhere, which meant we could go for a swim in some pretty amazing lakes. After 3 days on Fraser Island, we went back to Hervey Bay for another night, before making our way to Rockhampton. Anticipating a pretty busy town we booked ourselves in for 2 nights, however, we soon regretted this decision when we found ourselves sat in one, of a hand full of pubs. The guys were pretty happy to find themselves in the meat capital of Oz, so whilst they tucked into a steak which had been fed beer, played classical music and massaged (whilst alive) I tucked into a delicious bowl of lettuce and parmesan!!
The following day the guys had found a leaflet for a crocodile farm, having seen the fact they sold crocodile products, I wasn't all that interested in going, but Dave wanted to get himself a wallet, so we found ourselves in the weirdest place, looking at dead crocs mounted on the wall, to then be told we should be paying $20 for the privilege. Needless to say we made a swift exit. That night a couple of German guys came to the campsite, which made what would have been a dull night in the van playing poker, a bit more interesting, as they introduced us to some new drinking games.
The following day we made our way to Arlie beach, which is where we are now hoping to go off to the Whitsundays and great barrier reef in the next couple of days!
