After a bit of searching on the internet, we found out that our bird was a Storm Petrel and we could feed him raw fish and water. I also wrote to the RSPB to ask them what to do, but they didn't reply. Matt managed to get some anchovies from the restaurant and started hand feeding him as he wouldn't eat from the bath we made him in the sink or from a bowl. Rhys named him Malcom and we made him a semi permanent bedroom in the bottom of the cupboard in our cabin. Checked his wings and he seemed to be ok, probably just a bit shell shocked from his crash. We decided to keep him while we cross the Atlantic and then release him as soon as we get to some dry land in Antigua.
On the boat was all good. There were a few snobby people who didn't seem to think we should be on the ship, but most people were very friendly. On formal night we weren't allowed into the restaurant as Rhys wasn't wearing a dinner jacket... even though he had a shirt and tie and proper shoes! However the very nice restaurant manager took our order and sent our food up to the top deck where we could sit outside... it was much nicer out there anyway!
We met a few other motley crew aboard: Loraine and her daughter Aiyana, and Simon... one of the funniest people I have ever met - he is definately a keeper!
There was a gym which we never went into except to find Simon who spent most of his days in there, and a few pools which were generally filled with splashy kids. The jacuzzi's were nice to sit in at night, although there were so many lights on the ship you could rarely see any stars.
Main highlights of the cruise: free room service (which Rhys took full advantage of! ham sandwiches and pizzas - keep them coming!), jacuzzi and bloody mary's, and meeting a few lovely people that made being stuck on a boat in the middle of the atlantic bearable - thanks Loraine, Aiyana, and Simon!
