Laos is the complete opposite of Vietnam. Vietnam might be one of the fastest places in the world. When I arrived at the Laos border, a woman helping me told me that the border agent would be back in 20 minutes. I then saw the border agent proceed to walk out of his office, go to a TV and light up a cigarette. This is Laos. So very slow and so very relaxed. Si Phan Don is located at the very southern tip of Laos. It is a collection of small, fishing islands. So quaint and so beautiful.
My new intention in life for the past month has been "I live in amazing moments and amazing experiences." Every day has matched that since I sent that out. I am using music to keep my energy up all the time. My friend Inigo and I were walking back to our river front bungalow, and these 4 Laos men wanted us to try Lao Lao, which is homemade whiskey alcohol. In Asia, people tend to fill your drink right back up after you finish. The people want to give you everything they have and sometimes that is alcohol. We then had a 2 hour conversation with these men that spoke no English. I'm realizing how much communication is energetic.
The Laos people are the friendliest people I have ever met. They own basically nothing, being one of the poorest countries on Earth. But, they are also the happiest I have ever came across.
