Hello Lovers,
Just a quick entry to fill you in on Melbourne - we stayed there for about 4 days. After being in the rather barron north, where the roads were deadly, deadly straight and you saw no traffic AT ALL!!! and there was nothing around for miles and miles apart from the same trees and shrubs, it was rather a relief to get back to civilisation. No offence to the north. So we checked into our hostel and got a free upgrade (nicely done) and thank god we did, cos the rest of our fellow back packers were somewhat undesirable. A bunch of has-been hippy types, that weren't actually travelling - they just lived there. seriously. they were about 37 and neglected to wash. They also ate an unhealthy amount of pot noodles. Strange, yes?
Anyho, this meant that we spent little time there - we checked out the city - its rather beautiful I must admit and also got to walk around the Formula 1 race track, which is held this month in the city - it was so cool!!! All the roads had been closed off and the advertising placks and THOUSANDS of tyres were everywhere. Would have been so cool to watch it, but no such luck, as we left too soon. We did get to go to the one, the only, RAMSEY STREET which was AMAZING!!!!!!! I nearly wet myself with excitement and then we got to meet the evil Dr Darsy. He had grey hair? But he was so cool! it was wicked. I now know lots of neighbours gossip and also got to stand in the street of legends. We couldnt go to the neighbours night pub though (I nearly cried) as they only do it once a week and we weren't there. RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got over it though - Tom was very supportive through this troubled time.
We went to an Aussie Rules Footie match, which is one royal mess of a game - its like basket ball, rugby, football and played on a cricket pitch. How me and Tom laughed. So hard. But seriously, it was entertaining and made for a good afternoon. But its a joke - if you catch the ball behind the magic red line with both hands, the other team cant tackle you. Oh and if you have a penalty, you can basically run up to the goal line LITERALLY and take the shot. An extreme game of catch. Rock on.
So yes. We tried to go to the beach, but it rained. This was another time that Tom had to be supportive. I was very upset. But we're in New Zealand now and its a beautiful day!! hoorah!!!
Thanks for all your emails and messages, its so good to hear what everyone has been doing and that all is good. I miss you all loads, we both do and cant wait to see you again! Love you love you love you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
