On monday we headed towards Franz Josef, one of the three accessible glaciers in the Southern Hemisphre and the scenery on the eay was amazing I couldn't sleep on the bus and miss it. We arrived in time for a half day glacier hike which was about 4 hours and really tiring but totally worth it! It is awsome up there and I just couldn't believe it when I saw rainforest either side of the glacier and mountain tops behind it. We went through ice caves, tunnels and crevaces and had a wonderful view. Tired from the walking, all the Mgic people met up for pizza and me and Tina also had the Mud cake which was delicious. It is really cool being on the Magic bus because we all have a good time together and you get to chat to some amazing people like Roland the German and his new best friend Victor the Brazillian. I also have to mention Helga the Swiss whose actual name we don't really know becuase we haven't talked to her much as she is really argumentative!
We had a long bus journey on Tuesday down the West Coast to Queenstown stopping at Fox Glacier and Lake Matheson on the way. Check out my Lake Matheson photos and see why it is called the Mirror Lake. We also visited Lake Wanaka before arriving in Queenstown in the evening. We had a wicked night out with the Magic people especially Jenny and Paula the Irish sisters and we went to a few bars and had some teapot cocktails. We had such good fun and got in after half three so we just chilled out after a lie-in.
Thursay we visited Milford Sound after driving through Fiorland National Park (where Lord of the Rings was filmed) and the views were amazing. We went through rainforests and valleys with snowy mountains either side. We did get a bit worried though when the driver said look out for avalanches and his voice omg was so annoying he seriously sounded like the bottom tooth guy from Family Guy he dragged his words on sooo long! Milford sound was breathtaking and I saw a seal and a whale on the cruise.
Whilst in Queenstown we also tried massive Fergburgers that were the size of my head and the best burger I have ever eaten. We also went jet boating which was cool as we did 360 spins and nearly crashed into the sides of the canyons.
