Hi All!!! Its been a while and still no joy with photos although some people who finished the tour in Vic Falls have been putting pictures up on facebook so if you're interested you can get a peak there!
Had quite a few long driving days after leaving Victoria Falls as we headed over to Lake Malawi. We changed tents so Hebe and I now stay drier - although they all still have holes and now we have ants everywhere too - the truck is infested and the other night they were marchiong past my face - I didn't really know why until we took the tent down in the morning and discovered eggs in the windows!! Now I feel creepy everyday!
Lake Malawi was amazing! We arrived late afternoon so just spent some time chilling in the hamocks and enjoying the breeze! Next day we went on a village walk and got totally mobbed by children as we visited the hospital and the school. One little girl held my hand the whole way and tried to take my watch, my bracletts, my water, my camera and my money belt! Cheeky! It was fun though. One of the girls seemed to have been bitten by something in the night and was cover from head to toe in a nasty rash and completly swollen! Poor thing - it took a while and two doctors to get her treatment to calm it down!
We travelled to a resort north of the lake and spent a couple of nights there too. I went with a couple other girls to the witch doctor! It was very intimidating and he made us dance with him before eating a burning stick!! He talked to us all alone about our future . . . I'm not sure I believe a word he says as we all got told the same but if its true then Mum, Dad - you're going to live long wealthy lives, as am I and when I get back someone will marry me and I'll have 2 boys and a girl! Hummm!
Theres been some very stormy nights along the way but the lightning has been amazing! Our first night in Tanzania was quite cold as we were at 5600ft but they served lovely hot chocolate! It was weird coz the woman that ran the place went to college in Exeter!
Now in Zanzibar and its so hot and humid here! We're staying 4 nights in hotles so a break from the tents will be lovely! We get 5 new people today and loose 1 in 5 days. One couple - Gary and Corinna are getting married on a beach here so thats exciting!
Been mostly relaxing or driving the last 10 days but got lots coming up thats exciting so I'll keep you posted!
Stay safe and love to you all! x x x
