Getting on our first Shinkansen was so exciting, I couldn't belive how posh it was we felt like vip's. The train travelled so fast that in no time at all we arrived in Hiroshima. We got off the train and got on a tram that would take us to our hostel. We got slightly lost getting to our hostel as the directions given to us were rubbish, so by the time we arrived it was nice to get our bags off our backs!
We had heard so much about how nice Japanese curry is so we decided that we would cook some for tea. We bought chicken, peppers and onions and added them to the curry mix and it was one of the best curries I have ever had! Will definitely be bringing some home. For the rest of the night we just spent some time talking to people in our hostel, then had an early night in time for some sightseeing the next day.
We were up early to check out of our hostel but we left our bags behind for a few hours so we could visit the Atomic bomb site. We first had a look around the museum which was really interesting but also very sad at the same time as there was a lot of information on the amount of people the bomb killed and how it affected the people who survived. We then had a walk through the peace park and visited the building which has been preserved from when the bomb hit Hiroshima. Then it was back to our hostel to collect our bags and get on our second Shikansen that would take us to Kokura to visit Colette! :)
