hello hello
hope everyone is well and getting exited for christmas! saw my second christmas tree today do miss home at this time of year! left the capial ad travel south to savannakhet. just stayed 2 nights there, hired bike one day and cycle along ther mekong for abit and around the town some nice temples. really enjoying the strong coffee with condensed milk is so nice when you get the bottom bit.eating noodle soup for breakfast everyday am slighly addicted really fills you up for most of ther day with feeling like you need to lye down for 3 hourslike a full english (altho would kill for a proper sausage!) had a good bus ride to the next place Paske as slepty all the way. included a toilet stop on the side of the road where the men go in the bushes on the right and the women on the left!
arrived here this afternoon, traveling now with 2 germans a sweidsh girl and finish guy. is nice to have company altho do find now more and more i like to have my own time to. seems to be bit of a lack of really nice street food in laos as compared to thailand but tonight i had some really nice steamed pork dumplings with an egg in (always an egg hiden somehwere in everything!) and a bagette with some kind of meat pate, some kind of crab looking stuff and onions altho didnt taste fishy. really dont want to know what it is as tasted s good!going to get another one on the way home! tomorrow i think a few of us are going to hire scooters and go to some waterfalls that are nearby and hopefully a coffee or tea plantation. the next day catching a bus to 4 thousands islands which im really looking forward to. have heard really nice things about is being very beautiful and you can get bungalows right on the river for very little money. there is internet there altho no sure how much as only got electricity this year and it goes off at about 10pm i think! sally and paul and anna your light making appliances will come in very handy! think i will also invest in some candles.
the picture is the laos tuk tuks which are abit differnt to thai as they really have just stuck the seating onto a bike ( as opposed to an actual truck)and the whole thing tips backwards at quiet and angle!
so off to bed now as had a late night with a few beer laos last night then an early start to ctahc the bus this morning but was squashed up the back with bumpy road so sleeping wasnt happening. will have a little lay in tomo before hopefully swimming at the waterfalls
lots of love to everyone
