Szia from Hungary!
About 2 days ago the plane touched down in beautiful and hot Hungary and I embarked on a whirlwind trip exploring Budapest, Szeged, Krakow, Lake Balaton, and various other areas in and around Hungary. Today is our second day in a small city called Szeged. It is very quaint yet lively and reminds me quite a bit of Paris. We observed at and English elementary school this morning and several of the children were so enthralled with us that tey asked for our autographs. I have a video of them singing a spaghetti song to us in English that I will probably have to wait to poast till after I am back in the states.
The trip has been uneventful so far, but in a good way. We have free time for the next day or so to explore the city, and there is a huge festival goin on this weekend. It is that largest summer festival in all of Hungary, complete with wine, music, dancing, and a bazaar where I intend to barter some goodies later today. We are staying in college dorms right now and I have a shared room with one other girl. This is a very good thing since they don't believe in shower curtains in Hungary and so the bathroom has been quite a flood after every shower.
The food here is delicious and, true to rumors, the paprika here is exquisite. Words can't even describe the burn i experienced last night after being dared to take a spoonful of extra hot paprika sauce. Thankfully I only took a very very small bite ot there may have been an emergency.
Other than that, all is going well. I should be on in another few days to give another update. We move on to Lake Balaton on monday so probably at some point there I will post again.
All my love!
