Well my flight arrived safely back in to LA. The plane was the smallest I've ever been on. Only 2x2! I got allocated an emergency exit seat too so I had loads of legroom. I didn't sleep though. I arrived at the airport at about 10am and then I got my luggage eventually and got the SuperShuttle to the hostel and went straight to bed. I slept for an hour or so. In the afternoon I walked to the supermarket and bought a couple of bits and then I went back to bed and read a bit before eating my dinner and going to the lounge for comedy night. It was much better this time than last time. Most of the jokes were funny this time apart from I sat near the front and made the mistake of coughing really loudly so I got picked on all the way through by the host! I went to bed as soon as it finished around midnight.
Today I went to Universal Studios. It's really warm in the sun and I've actually got a bit burnt on my back where I was queuing for so long to buy my tickets. I have no idea what they were doing but they took ages to sell each party their tickets. I think they did it on purpose so that everyone would think that all the lines would be really long and lots of people bought front of line passes rather than the normal tickets. A clever ploy! There were no lines for the rides. The only thing I had to wait for was the Studio Tour when I waited around 30 mins but this is because some of the trams had got held up due to production work going on on the lots. It was good! It's like the studio tour in Disney Paris but it's actually real. We went through the front lot where it's all sound stages and go can't see anything and then we went to the back lot where we saw loads of sets which have been used in real movies, music videos, etc. We went through the "town" where Ghost Wisperer is filmed, saw the Bates Motel and Physo House, Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives and more. There was also the special effects bit where we were in the subway in San Fran and there was an earthquake and everything around us started collapsing and there was fire and water. There were loads of these bits which were cool! I also saw the Waterworld show which was really cool. They had stunts with jet skis, etc and at one point a float plane "crashed" in to the water! We got a bit wet! The show was really good. I had a really good day.
Tomorrow I'm going to the beach. Must remember my sun cream! The hostel put on a free shuttle down to the beach at Santa Monica and you have to make your own way home. Shouldn't be difficult. There's nothing to do tonight so I might have an early night. Read some more of my book.
