Today was another quiet day for me. With still no voice, I spent my time whispering my input into conversations and getting annoyed that I couldn't talk even after resting my voice the day before.
We had quite a distance to travel today so our driver Mangee put his foot down to try and get us to Wellington as quickly as possible. I spent the majority of my time today with Nat as she was the only one who could understand me/read my mind, and she also came to get some brilliant ice cream with me at one of the stops. True friendship.
After what seemed like years later, we finally arrived in Wellington and had a quick tour on the bus before stopping at our hostel. From the drive around, I could tell I would really like Wellington and I was gutted that we couldn't extend our booking further because of a festival over the weekend that meant all hostels were fully booked.
Once we checked in, we got our free meal (a burger and a rather suspicious looking sausage) and started to get ready for the bar crawl we had just signed up for.
We changed into the first nice outfits we had worn since starting kiwi experience and I had a quick gargle of warm salt water (Nat's order) before heading out.
Then something very exciting happened. I got my voice back! …not fully, but enough that people could hear me in the bars! So I quickly gargled some more warm salt water and went to start the bar crawl, more excited than I had been for a long time.
