Mum
Hello rachel,
Mum here - hope you enjoyed the river rafting and are still in one piece. it was open evening last night and quite a lot of people looked at your blogs and were very interested. You've had a great experience, and have lots more to come!! there were more than 200 families at the open evening and there's only places for about 97 children!! Anyway, please write and let us know how you went on!! oh, by the way, the german exchange students are here again and Mari-Elene -the teacher from last year, sends her love, best wishes and says she's jealous!! She remembers how last year, both of you were talking nostalgically about student life!!
Lynda
Hi Rachel
I am really enjoying reading about your adventures. Your writing is really showing us how lucky we are here in England. I had written an assembly to tell them all about what you are showing us about life in Equador but as ever there was a problem when the kids did not get the message about assembly and I only had 3 minutes left to speak so I will have to do the assembly next week. I want all those who helped to fund raise to realise how important your work is out there. I would also like you to think about a charity we could adopt when you get home. It would be great to use a real contact to raise money for the community where you are working .
You seem to be coping great !! I would be terrified of flying things and cockroaches but you seem to be coping-don't bring any back with you in your suitcase-your mum is hopeless with spiders never mind the bigger species.i'll write again soon -keep us informed about your fascinating work. Love Lynda
Grandma
Hi Rach, Hope you are well and still enjoying your stay in Ecuador. Do keep telling us what you have been doing during the day, everyone here is interested in your wellfare and like to know what they have you doing!!
Everyone thought that cutting bamboo down was a very exhausting job for you, you will have muscles like Popeye when you return. You must have lost weight with all the strenuous work, we won't know you!!! Th weather is very windy here, but quite warm and tomorrow it is suppose to get up to 27 degrees when the average for this time of year is around 18 degrees. This global warming has a lot to answer for. Addie has been here today and has been a very good dog, she sends her good woofs, this morning the postman was putting the post through the letter box and I heard him, went out to collect it and there is old Addie actually swinging on the post as the postman was pushing it through the letterbox, she was actually off the ground and was holding onto the post with her teeth!! We will have to put her in the circus!! Busy getting ready for our hols now, washing & ironing and more washing and ironing. Take care lots of love Grandma xxxxxxx

Grandma
Hi Rach - Grandma calling, just arrived back from St. Annes after having the car serviced. The weather has been quite good, not had the rain like you, hope you didn't get wet, or did you stand in it and have a shower, we used to do that in the West Indies, it was a good way of cooling off, if you haven't tried it yet I would recommend it!! Just read your blog of 17/9, Puerto Misahualli looks quite interesting, maybe I should think of booking a holiday there, not sure about the monkeys walking around there, maybe I will forget that idea. It is going to be a busy week as on Friday 22/9 we off to Minorca, hope the weather is good. Well, it is Grandad's eating time, so I had better get to the kitchen and conjure up something tempting, not sure what. Uncle Bill & Marjorie were very interested in reading your blogs and think you are very brave. Last night we watched a programme on Ecuador and found out what a Shayman was, when you referred to him previously we didn't know who he was, just shows you learn something every day!! We would also like to know who Alejio is?
Bye for now time for tea. Lots of love and don't forget to take care. Grandma xxxxx
Auntie Margaret And Auntie Karen
Hi Rachel,
Just been reading your diary and looking at your photos. Very interesting, I am sure you are having a brilliant time. David would love to see all the animals and insects you get to meet.
Keep up the good work. hope you dont have to spend too much time in the kitchen!
Love from Auntie Margaret and everybody xxxx
Grandma
Hi Rach, I5's that nuisance Gran of yours again, just read your last blog as I was in Stratford yesterday with school. The performance of Romeo & Juliet was excellent, could pick a few faults but not too many. The journey was another story 4hrs. 45mins to get there andd 3.30 mins. to get back, too many hours sitting in he coach, could almost have been in Ecuador!! You certainly did a long stint in the kitchen, that would be against all health and safety rules here in good old England. Tomorrow we are taking the car into Blackpool for its first service and then we are staying over until Monday, so you will not hear from me until then. Mrs. Farrimond is very involved in reading your blogs, not once, not twice but, over and over again, so you have a real fan there. Lots of luv Grandma xxxxx
Dci Jack Spratt
Hey Rachel,
My names DCI Jack Spratt, you can call me Jack. I'm 44, living in Reading with my wife Madeline and our 4 kids. I'm heading the Reading Nursery Crime Division, and have done for over 15 years. Sounds like your having quite a time out there, what with psychopathic ants and all, almost as nasty as the Easter bunny! (Thankfully she's been banged up for three years now). I commend you for choosing to help protect the balance between good and evil, and was wondering if you had ever considered policing? (So long as you dont mind battling 8-foot tall Bio-engineered Gingerbread men) Anyhoo, I have to save the world from prize cucumbers reaching critical mass and causing nuclear meltdown. Take care, and do consider my offer, we need more people like you on the force!
All my thoughts,
DCI Jack Spratt
Tom, You are crazy!!!!!!!!!!
