Our next stop was Kalbarri, a small seaside town off the main highway. This is a beautiful part of the coastline and we enjoyed looking around the town and strolling along the beach. We visited Rainbow Jungle a parrot sanctuary. This was really fun, especially the open area where the parrots could fly around freely. We were surprised at how many different species of parrots and cockatoos there are in Australia. The following day we left early to beat the heat and went to see the gorges and coastal formations just out of twon. The eroded cliffs and gorges were spectacular and we could clearly see the layers in the rocks. Unfortunatley we didn't go to see the river gorges as we were advised at the visitor centre the road was too bad and would break our van. So we gave it a miss.
