Yesterday Helen and i went to the Nordiska Museum which is house in one of the most lively buildings! It looks just like a fairy tale castle should look! Inside there were a number of exhibitions which related to life in sweden from a long time ago up to the present day! The most exciting bit was being able to look at the changing clothing styles over the period as well as the change jewellery styles! Some of the clothes and jewellery which was on display was absolutely stunning where as other pieces left much to be desired!
We watched a lady who was weaving some cloth as well as tonnes of different styles of cloth that had been found all over sweden during the past few centuries! There was lace, brocade, linens and other less attractive material.
The museum also had an exhibition which showed the changes in Sweden's interior decor styles there were lots of different tables, clocks and chairs and by this time we were both rather tired so all we wanted to do was sit so we were looking at all the chairs rather longingly!
After we had finished looking at all the exhibitions that the museum has to offer, we hopped on the tran back into town to find an 18th century cafe which i ha heard of. It was called sturekatten and was still in The same place it had been since its inception and with the same decor that had originally been chosen at the start! It was so lovely an cute and we were able to get a delicious sandwich and hot chocolate and sit in comfy chairs while we relaxed! Afterwhich we went shopping!
