06.10.11 Journey to Vientiene
This morning I was up nice and early and made my way to the Southern Bus Teminal in order to catch my supposed 8 hr bus journey to Vientiene, the Capital of Laos.
The bus departed LP at 8am, and we arrived in Vientiene at 8pm! Suddenly, 8 hrs turned into 12!
It really didnt matter though. Do you know what albeit stuck on a bus for the entire day, I've had a great day. I was able to chill out, catch up on the little sleep i've had so far (as i'm still not sleeping well) and listen to my music, which i haven't done the whole time since being away. Today was the first time i've pulled out my ipod.
Because the journey took so long, i was able to listen to my birthday party play list from start to finish. it was great. So many memories from not only my birthday party, but also listening to the best of my whole music library back to back.
The views that I saw driving through Laos were mesmerising. Laos, although I've said it before is so beautiful, I could never tire of that view. Dropping vallay's, high mountains, waterfalls falling and the locals going about their daily duties as we drove through village to village.
Three of my favourite memory moments today, where at first i cried but then I smiled were these:
Marvin Gaye - Aint No Mountain High Enough
Ellie Goulding - Your Song
Foo Fighters - Times Like These
Kasabian - Take a Look at Me Now
Cristina Aguilara - Fighter
Oasis - Champagne Supernova
I was truly in my element. i've had a great day ;-)
