In our opinion Australia does a few things better than the uk and one of those is budget air travel . Jetstar was great in comparison to Ryanair well for me anyway.
Poor Shaun got sat next to a fat Greek man who took up a lot of his space, insisted on talking for most of the flight generally about diabetes or his family and when he wasn't talking he was snoring. Apart from that the journey was pretty hassle free and it wasn't long before we were in our little boutique hotel.
The time in Adelaide was enjoyable if a little brief. A visit to Glenelg (think home and away style beaches) was a highlight of the area.
We didn't have time or the inclination to visit museums or look at architecture but a visit to La Boheme provided much needed culture for us as we sampled several of their tasty cocktails in a cute Parisian style setting.
Copious amounts of alcohol was swiftly followed by a trip to China town and proved a nice ending to our Adelaide experience before the road trip started.
