I am currently in Phnom Pehn: the capital city of Cambodia, where we arrived around 6.30pm yesterday evening: the weather is excruciatingly hot, and by hot I mean somewhere in the region of 34 degrees!!! Far hotter than we were experiencing even in the south of Vietnam!!
We arrived in Cambodia via the Mekong Delta: we did a 2day tour from Saigon, right up to the Vietnam/Cambodian boarder, wher we crossed through on the second day: the tour of the Mekong Delta was very nice, in fact the scenary was really amazing: we got to visit some minority villages, floating fish-farms on the Mekong, where people acyually live, and all sorts of cultural things like that!
So far Cambodia has been interesting: the scenery is amazing: you can definately see the influence of the Khmer Rouge regime in the sculptures and the temples etc, which is by far the most spectacular that we have seen so far in South East Asia...
So far, we havent done much, seen as this is the first day here. Today I went to the Nation museum, where they have all the sculputures on display from the Khmer Roughe Regime etc, which was OK, but a tad boring and very hot. The plan for tomorrow is to visit 'The killing fields' and the museum, which should be very interesting, so I cannot wait for that. So guys, I shall leave it there for now, and update again when I have something a little more substantial and far more interesting to report.
