We made it to Kissimmee after an eventful journey! What should have been a 3 hour stop over at Newark became 7 hours, with several trips across the terminal as the gate changed with every delay announcement.
We finally arrive at Orlando Airport only to find that Tony's luggage didn't make the journey with us. At this point we'd been awake for 22 hours so it was hard to care whether Tony had clean pants for the morning or not.
After picking up the rental car and stopping at Wal-Mart for some basic groceries, we finally arrived at the villa at 1.20am local time only to find that the management company had changed the locks and we couldn't get in. Fortunately, I had the great idea of phoning the UK (sod the time difference - this was an emergency) and was able to get the code for the key box. And we were finally in, albeit that it probably cost us a small fortune in mobile calls.......that's a treat waiting for us when we return home!
The first week the weather was perfect and we spent our time (after Tony bought a brand new wardrobe courtesy of the travel insurers) chilling out, taking an eco tour at the double J working ranch in Holopaw and a boat trip up the St Johns river both of which were excellent.
By the second week the temperature had hit the 90s and it was extremely hot and humid from then on. We picked up Michelle and the girls at the airport and then it was non stop fun. Details to follow as it's late and Tony is nagging me to hurry up so he can download his photos.
