Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Wednesday 18th November. This is a long day of travelling with an hour flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles followed by a 5.5 hour flight from LA to Kona (after a 3 hour stop over). The flight is a little uncomfortable because the women sitting in the aisle seat refuses to get up when we need to make use of the fa…
Welcome to Rachael and Tony's Travelog. Here we hope to accurately record the exciting and, in all likelihood, occasionally embarassing experiences of our 6 week trip to the USA starting with the planning stages. Hopefully, you will find it entertaining and, if we do it right, you'll get a good sense of what we are up to.
Please also check the message board for personal messages and feel free to leave messages for us.
Be seeing y'all!

Friday 13th November. We arrive in San Francisco just as the sun is going down. I have to confess that by the time we arrive at our hotel, the 5* very posh and very historic Fairmont, I am a l…

Hi The Tree Hugger and Monkey
Dreaming of the new car, what happened to Solstice. Pictures look great but why are you taking photos of Tree Hugger. We have pictures of squirrels but none of the Monkey!!
Tom is back in goal for football and Nick has moved up a lesson in swimming.
We cannot wait for you to come back, is it only a week Saturday.

I'm trying to catch up on the blog - got one more day to cover on San Francisco and hopefully I'll bring everything up to date on Hawaii in the next day or two. It is a surprisingly time consuming job once you got behind. At the very least I'm going to upload the Hawaii pictures daily now.
Loved San Francisco and Hawaii is amazing - English people are a real novelty here! It's well past 12am now and we are up at 5.30 tomorrow to get ready for a snorkling trip so I better get to bed now - Tony has been snoring on the couch for the last couple of hours.
See you very soon now!

Hello guys, it's good to read your update. Vegas has definitely changed since we were there many moons ago. I'm guessing San Franciso didn't capture your heart as much given the lack of comment on it.
Keep the photos coming as the girls enjoying looking at them time and time again.
Love to your both

Hi
What fantastic photos & the scenery is so stunning. Glad to see some photos of you Rach, thought you might try & avoid the camera completely !!
Glad you are having an amazing time & missing our wet & cold weather.
Just spoke to Sev & the bad news is that Stretch class ended 2 weeks ago - he has only just plucked up the courage to tell me. The good news is, there is a spin class on at 7.30 so after all your road running & trekking that should be a walk in the park ! Tony - it might help improve your speed on the bike as well !!
The Christmas quiz is on the 3rd Dec so you need to put that date in your diary, otherwise I'll be left with another Team Sev wants to join up with ( They came 2nd last year - so that's too much pressure !!)
Can't wait for your next blog so Tony stop hogging the netbook !
Take care

Megan and Hannah
I am feeling better, Hannah hasn't got blue lips anymore. We have been horse riding tonight and we have been watching 'Get Squiggling' on the computer. I hope you have a lovely time today. I have been to Clara's cottage on my school trip. When I came back from Clara's cottage I went outside on the Adventure Playground.
I have been to pre-school today. Gran and Grampy took me shopping. Grampy touched a snowflake and all his money fell out of his pocket and my milk. Then we lost Gran in the shop.
We miss you alot.
Love Megan and Hannah. xx

Dear All,
Sorry to hear that Megan & Phoebe have been under weather - hope that you have both made a full recovery & are feeling better.
Thanks for the update on the Argyle scores - I don't seem to have been kept up-to-date on the BSYFC results !!
Keep reading & we both look forward to seeing you after our adventures have been completed.

Lorraine - well done on the new job !

Hi Fiona,
Good news about the Willis Choice Plan! I am having difficulty getting the internet time so haven't loaded any photos before tonight and because it is quite a painful process, I've only managed to get some Florida snaps on. On top of that Tony is hogging the netbook each night to upload his photos onto Picasa - if you want to take a look www.picasaweb.google.co.uk/tonytobin33. You can also check out his blog which is a lot more detailed then mine (like I said, he is hogging the netbook all the free time we have), www.offexploring.com/tony .
Am having a great time but the time seems to be flying by - sign of a good holiday I suppose.
See you soon,
Love

Hi ya
Have just read all your blogs which are great and really made me laugh. I know all must be well as you are constantly bantering - and I am starting to miss that !!
Work is rolling on and just to let you know I've eventually booked the Christmas do for Thursday 10th Dec at the Hope & Anchor. Everyone seems happy about that (or as happy as they normally are !!). Food is gorgeous which means Rach you'll hate everything on the menu !!
It has just been announced the Willis Choice offer is open again for 2010 - application form will be on your desk for when you get back !!
Take care - speak soon - I can't view the photos so not sure what I'm doing wrong !!
