"Today i dont feel like doing anything..."
Well we woke up early again to try the balloon ride one last time with our favourite tuk tuk driver and once again it was closed. There goes that idea then! We then headed back to the hotel where we packed, checked out and waited to be picked up for our lovely bus ride.
Our seats were on the backseat right next to the toilet...great. It was the bumpiest and hottest bus journey we have been on so far; however they did play Mr Bean and Michael Jackson videos which Sammy thouroughly enjoyed! On the plus side however we did get to see some lovely sights out of window which included; a herd of cows in the middle of the road which the bus had to weave itself through - two of them were humping and then we saw what we can only describe as a waterfall of ducks.
We then had to get a tuk tuk to our hotel which randomly stopped on this dodgy looking road/alley with what was apparantly our hotel behind the walls. We both looked at each other with worried looks on our faces thinking OMG what have we booked! Luckily when we opened the door we walked into the most beautiful secluded pool area so far. Thank f*** for that!
We got into our room which was just as awesome as the pool area. It had a walk in shower and best of all a DVD player attached to a big ass TV, theres our next few days sorted.Unfortunately Sammy got poorly the next day so we spent the next day just relaxing by the pool in our grotto. The grotto was the best thing ever! It was so comfy we didnt want to leave and decided that we wanted one in our backgardens at home.
The next day we ventured out onto the streets of Phnom Penh and headed in the direction of what we thought was the riverfront... we were wrong. We decided then to get in a tuk tuk and soon arrived at the FCC for breakfast. We then walked to the Palace which was as Rach says the poor mans Grand Palace in Bangkok. So nothing that impressive then. It was so hot as well that we soon decided to leave once looking around and headed back to our grotto by our amazing pool where we stayed till we got the bus to leave Phnom Penh.
Final thoughts of Phnom Penh...Meh!
