This morning Gina and I had a long lay in until midday. We both heard all the girls in our dorm room leave for the kiwi Experience bus. So glad that we are staying on in Rotorua as I had a massive hangover today and definitely needed to sleep in. Gina was feeling ok. Once we had got up we headed to the supermarket to get some lunch and food for dinner tonight. It's cheaper now as we split the cost between both of us. At 3.30pm we got picked up to go for a off roading experience. We went in the Monster Truck for 10 minutes. We had to put on a jacket and trousers over our clothes and wear a helmet. We got strapped in and away we went. A lady called Clare was driving us around this dry muddy track, up steep hills, down steep hills, skidding us all over the place and driving on 2 wheels. Mud was flying everywhere. It was so fast and such great fun. Some of the trucks have overturned before but the driver we had has never overturned one of them. Bit of reassurance I guess. After this we went on a self drive 4WD Bush Safari. Gina and I took it turns to drive the 4WD vehicle along the track with many obstacles to overcome along the way. We were driving up steep hills, down steep hills into water and driving sideways. There was a particular obstacle to do where Gina was driving at the time and it was a massive drop down into a dark tunnel. It was so scary but a great feeling when we got to the bottom. We really had to trust each other driving when we were doing the obstacles lol. It was for about 45 minutes and when we got back we both received certificates saying that we both survived the 4WD Bush Safari displaying great talent and skill. We had such an amazing time that we wanted to do it all again. Both things we did were free with the Explore New Zealand cards whereas normally it would cost $150.00 in total. We both are saving a fortune on activities and accommodation so far in New Zealand. It's brilliant. We got dropped back at the hostel and went on the internet for a bit. Then we cooked pasta for dinner. Both Gina and I are really tired from last nights drinking antics so we had an early night. We have the dorm room to ourselves tonight so enjoying the peace and quiet until the new Kiwi Experience bus arrives tomorrow.
