I got up at 4am and got ready to check out of the hostel. It was way too early and still dark outside. I got woken up at 2am as well as some guys in my dorm dorm were coming in from a night out drinking. My shuttle came to pick me up at 5am to go to the airport. I am flying to Auckland today via Sydney. My first flight is with Jetstar at 8.15am. I checked in and asked if my bag could be through checked to Auckland but the lady said I would need to collect them at Sydney and recheck them in even though I got given my boarding card for my onward flight plus the bag tag for both flights. I went to the gate and boarded the plane. I asked a member of crew onboard and they said I would just need to follow the signs when we land for international transfers. Also I though that I had to pay for food and drink onboard but as my flight number was a Qantas flight number this had already been included in my flight ticket. I was so happy as it was nearly a 11 hour flight. I sat next to a really nice Australian lady on the flight Teri who was really friendly plus a lady who had completed in the last Olympics was on our flight. I thought I recognised her from the TV. Her name was Shelly and does sailing. We arrived at Sydney Airport at 4pm on Wednesday 14th October. We had crossed the time zone and I had lost a day. It felt so wierd.
