Today we left Bass Lake at 7.45am to head to San Francisco. It took the morning to get there. We arrived in San Francisco at lunchtime so we stopped at Fishermans Wharf for an hour. Then after lunch we had a city tour. We were shown North Beach, Chinatown, Financial District, South Beach, Castro, Haight Ashbury, Golden Gate Park, Cow Hollow, Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge. We drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and took photos on the other side. It was very foggy today so the fog was pouring over the bridge so we couldn't see much of it. After the city tour we went to our hotel where we are staying for 3 nights - Hotel Whitcomb. It is right next to Starbucks. It's a really nice hotel. I am sharing a room with Rachel who I was sharing with in Bass Lake. She comes from Brisbane and we have become really good friends on this tour. In the evening around 5.30pm we went on a sunset cruise. It was free alcohol and food on the boat. It took us out along the marina, past Alcatraz and right across to the Golden Gate Bridge. We went under the bridge and then came back again. The fog had cleared from earlier so we got great pics of the bridge and sunset. It was very windy and cold on the boat so had to be a bit careful moving around. San Francisco is a lovely city and has the trams going along the roads which reminded me of Melbourne. There is so much to see and do here.
