Thursday
So the batteries are still playing up and we are lucky that after Gympie the van is booked in for a service anyway.
We’re up early today because the first event is at 8.30am. We have breakfast shower and along with Meredith and Alan head down to the Muster.
First up is line dancing lessons - The music is playing when we arrive and Meredith goes straight down to join in. Alan and I head down and I tentatively try a few steps. I’m just about to get the steps and they all turn and start again.
Turns out that was just the warm up for the experienced dancers so we go back to the table where Martin is waiting for us.
Debbie, our instructor comes out and we all, including Martin, heads back to the dance floor. Debbie explains each step and we give it a go. Arms and legs are going in all directions but we eventually settle into a rhythm. As soon as you relax though a mistake is made and you’re all out of whack. We get through that dance (Cupid’s Shuffle) and have a quick break. This happens for another 3 dances and yet Martin and I learnt them all. No photos though but I do have witnesses.
Our next show was the Back to the Bush Ballads Show with 6 very talented singers and story tellers. We particularly enjoyed Bec Hance.
Lunch was steak Sanger’s from the Lions Club tent and then we watched the performance by Neilly Rich. We’d seen this couple perform at the Dungog Rodeo at Easter and they were great again today.
A trip back to camp for a quick rest and some dinner before heading back down at 8pm for the Pink Tribute Show. She was quite good but her mic could have been a bit louder.
Back to camp again as tomorrow will be another early start.
