Heya Guys. Sorry for the long delay. Had trouble trying to find the internet and so have ended up in a 24 hour internet cafe.
Right, last week rounded up quickly.
2nd day in Bangkok was amazing. Saw all the sights with Im, a relation of Jaidee's (My dads wife!). Went temple spotting, toured Wat Phra Kaeo and the Grand Palace, drank lots of chilled coconut, saw the City Pillar Shrine and said a prayer buddhist style with Im. Also went to Wat Pho (The temple of the reclining buddha - it was huge filled the entire temple) and changed up 20 Baht into 1 Baht coins. We put one into each of the twenty pots lining the walls for good luck. Rochelle wasn't allowed in at first as she was revealling her shoulders and James had to wear very fetching trousers that were lent to him. Fed the pidgeons in Sanam Luang Park (pidgeons are nicer in Thailand) and saw a dog chase a rat through the market. Visited Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall and Sarah risked imprisonment by insulting the king. In the evening we went to Distil Bar on the roof of our hotel. It was on the 64th floor - very high. Great views and very posh. Watched the Thunderstorms from our balcony.
Next day we kitted up and went to Bangkok Hua Lamphong Station to book ticket to Ko Tao. Went for a ride on the subway (very cool) to do some shopping at Si Lom Centre. Had a dinner in a cook-your-own restaurant - basically we got a plate full of raw meat and a small griddle/steamer whch we had to load with all our food. Still not too sure what half the meat was but very nice all the same. Had a very uncomfortable overnight bus journey down to Chumphon and caught the 6 o'clock ferry to Ko Tao, watching the sun come up over the sea. When we arrived we booked into our beach hut and hired motorbikes for the day to explore the island. The roads here are mad. Nothing but dirt track and steap hills - not good on a 125cc scooter. Discovered a beautiful restaurant at the top of one of the hills overlooking the bays to the south and had the best Thai curry ever. James had Tiger King Prawns that filled his large plate. Rochelle almost lost her shoe on the bike after kicking off a spider mid-drive and we had our first cockroach (ON THE BED!).
Monday we started scuba diving. Sarah and Rochelle started their theory whilst James had his first dive of the advanced course. Saw the sunset from the same restaurant (we loved it that much). Tuesday (today) Rochelle and Sarah did theory in the morning whilst James was on his dives - James went to 30 metres and saw thousands of fish. Rochelle and Sarah started their diving in the swimming pool, however Rochelle wasn't too comfortable with the breathing so decided to end the course early. Went to Hippo Bar and Grill and had a huge meal and lovely cocktails - everyone got a bit tipsy, and Rochelle killed her first cockroach - it was discusting.
Will upload the photos as soon as we can get internet on our computer, but until then - Bye and hope you're all having fun back home without us.
