Nan
Nan
As we just extended our visa for Thailand, we thought we should as well use it. So instead of going straight to Laos through the mainborder in the north, we planed on going east. THrough the less touisty part of Thailand. So we studied the map of Thailand and found our next destination, Nan. At the busstation we got told that we missed the direct bus, so we'd have to go to Phrae and then catch the bus to Nan there. So we did that. Thee ride to Phrae was alright, but then from Phrae to Nan... The streets went curvier and more narrow. And the busdriver drova as if he was lat for dinner. He cut the curves like a world race champion. The bus was sometimes at an angle where even heavier bags just slid from one side of the bus to the other. Scary =)
We arrived unhurt in Nan and had no clue where we were. So, logically, we went to the information. The guy there gave us the, probably worst map in the universe, and when we asked him about where we were, and where the Guest Houses where, he started to turn the map around, all caonfues. After a few minutes he realised that he had no idea =) So we went to a reataurant and eat something. Then we just started walking, and after a few meters we found the first signs for Guest Houses. After a short walk we found a grat GH and instantly fest welcome there. So we stayed there for two days.
Nan is not very touristy and not an the backpackertrack. So the only other not thais we saw were two british owners of Resaturants. Ther's not much to see or do in Nan, so we just wandered about and had a look at some temples.
