Hello again. Last time that I talked to you it was short and sweet because I was still gettting used to the blog and the area of Perth in Western Australia. Since my last entry, I have started my course; Media in Australia. Now, I have written a paper on the parallels between the Australian and American media as well as the power of storytelling according to the indiginous people of Australia.
I also had the opportunity to go on a field trip to the Margaret river area of Australia about an 1:30 outside of Perth. It is the home of local wineries, but this was not a trip to see the wineries. Instead, I went dolphin watching, walked in a cave, walked the longest wooden jetty in the world, went to an underwater aquarium, visited the raptor park, and went to a chocolate factory. All of it was amazing a beautiful.
Since being in Australia I have discovered a few differences in the language. For instance:
Toilet=bathroom; No worries=no problems; rubbish=trash; Noongar=local indiginous people; raptor=bird.
These are just a few, but I will update again later.
