"Have your friends collect your records..."
The wheels on the bus keep going round and round this time toward Berlin! I must say, far from the best looking city in Europe. It all looks a little run down. Graffiti everywhere and for the most part it's just graffiti, any sort of street art seemed to be few and far between. The buildings are not old and grand. Rather boring and very plain. Probably got a lot to do with the city being level in WW2 and the lack of progress in the east after. Still Dias and I had set up to stay with a friend, Sarah. Much cheaper and more fun than a hostel. Sarahs housemates also helped make our stay. George and Johannes where also so much fun. After arriving really late we didn't do much other than eat have a beer and crash. Next day we explored a bit more and went to see Checkpoint Charlie, the most famous crossing point from East to West in the days of the wall. Also we saw part of the wall that's still standing and a huge WW2 exhibit. That night but got a little loose. We all had a few beers and decided to kick on. We left the house quite late for our night out which in the end turned into morning. We left as the sun woke and the place was still as packed as when we got there. These guys don't sleep.
Bit more exploring around Krueznburg the following day so it wasn't a total waste. Then George told us she would take us to an opening of a new street art gallery. This place was really impressive. At art was for the most part really cool and really impressive. The gallery it's self was awesome to all set up in an old house that they stripped right back.
Still needing to replace lots of our stolen gear we headed to the markets the next day. Huge! And lots of junk, but a random highlight was the karaoke. This guys set it up in a random amphitheatre in the neighbouring park. We watched for a while as some struggled while other where amazing. There would have been at least 2000 people there though. We had more beers at a local that night after the girls twisted our arm into going out again. Wasn't a late one, we had to get our real tourist on the following morning with a bike tour. The tour made the city look so much better than anything we had seen so far. We sure lots of the buildings or places where many things went down to do with wars or walls. To many to list here. As our last night we did drinks from Sarah's roof top and our own karaoke night at the local karaoke bar. With a little Dutch courage we all ended up giving it a bash, EP will follow I'll keep you posted.
Our last day we checked out the girls spaces to see more art. Wow this were good if not better than the other gallery. All the modern street art style just really well done. If i could get them home and had a lazy €500.
I've left the lads for now were all going different directions. I'm sitting in Berlin airport waiting for my flight to Rome! I'm already hungry to.
