Nat's Adventures
Sunning it up in other beach resort this week. Unawatunna. Staying in Banna Garden - nice, kinda fancy too. A wee place not reached by train. Got train to Galle on Saturday, about 1/2 hr journey in 3rd class for 5p each! We struggled on train with all our worldly belongings (of which i'm managing to offload bits n pieces as each place we stay! I brought more than the essentials - but i'll learn -did'nt really need my straigtners), anyway got on train and every is saying 2nd class that way! I don't think many tourists slum it with the locals - but we did! A nice man we met at station got us tuk tuk but he dropped us off in Dalawella (not what we wanted!), not even a decent beach there. Went off to turtle farm project - was'nt entirely convinced it was legal or fair on turtles, but held a baby turtle, once in lifetime opportunity. Then went to herbal garden and a one man paddle boat around Lake, stopping off at Temple and Cinnamon islands. Superb! Bought some natral aloe vera for sunburn (now blistered and peeling - sarah says i still look a million dollars but scabby!) also got oil to keep mozzies away, the mannie said it will alst 5yrs but we've used a quarter already!
We are managing to watch all the world cup matchs at hotel along beach from us, feels like we're gate crashing somebody elses holiday tho, 'cos we're outsiders sharing their buffet meals. Better go organise Delhi Accom and reaplly cream to peeling skin! x
