Friday - Fine
Off to Milan today, I rate Spain, the people are very friendly and the cities are beautiful. It's a shame that it took us so long to get here, and that we had to cut about a week off our stay here as well. We wanted to do a walk up north near the Portuguese border.
After a good sleep we checked out and walked to the airport express bus stop. My allergies are playing up today, something has set them off. I was sneezing like crazy!
We had a bit of a wait at luggage checkin, but breezed through security and found some comfy chairs to sit in before our flight. No problem, with our flight we even had a good lunch 30000 feet up.
It wasn't a cheap trip from the airport into the centre of Milan. We only had a one mode of transport to choose from, and it was the €10 bus.
The B&B was about a 30-40 min walk or 3 stations on the metro from the centre of town, and with these heavy packs (mine hitting the scales in at 24kgs) we opted for the metro.
The B&B is pretty basic, but the room opens out onto a big balcony and it has a fridge, so we can keep some alcoholic beverages cool and sit out on the balcony after a days worth of exploring. Oh and did I mention that it has a 24hr breakfast buffet and automatic coffee machine!
By this time of the day I had had enough of sneezing and the splitting headache! I was out of drugs too and needed to visit a chemist bad. We hit up the buffet and coffee machine with a couple double shots of espresso and some fruit and croissants. We then went for a short walk to a chemist and a grocery store. At the store we bought some beers, wine and salad for dinner. We then went home, and I tried to get control of this hay fever.
