This place is a must visit! It's so beautiful! It's still a little quiet, gorgeous limestone cliffs protruding from the turquoise oceans.. It's also spotless as the mayor of Palawan has made littering a criminal offense!
The night life here is not bad either... Lots if beach party's dancing to the rhythm if drums, local bands singing oldschool reggae covers! It's such a great feel here!
Eva and I have been exploring! We hired a double sea kayak and headed of with a map to find this small hidden lagoon! We were warned about the long paddle and the strong winds but we wed ahead anyway.. To paddle there with no wind it took 1.5 hrs!!! But when we got there it was more gorgeous than I imagined! A little deserted beach tucked away in a book sourounded by sharp limestone pinnacles! Sheesh!! Amazing! Eva has the pics so I'll have to wait unit she puts them on fb!
Another day in el nido we spend diving! Diving was ok.. Not amazing however i did find an orangutan crab, see a huge gardenmof cabbage coral And spot a nudibranch I've never seen before :)
Being previously spoilt with water temp I was shocked when I jumped in the refreshing water with my watch temp saying 27 degrees... Definitely time to double up on the wetsuits!! The dive company 'sea dogs' was awesome... Small business run by an English dude.. I met a wicked israeli instructor there and over a few beers in the evening we decided I am coming back soon. :)
I can't wait to put the pics up so u guys can see how stunning this place is... I have no idea why the Philippines army more popular! Im thinking it's going to become my favourite country ansnive only been here for 1 week!!
I met a sweet group of backpackers here! Nights were spent drinking San miguel light or the infamous red horse (the Chang of the Philippines)... Sitting on the beach swapping stories of where their favourite places are... The Philippines are slipping into the top five regularly now!
Im currently sitting on a random rickety boat with 5 others tourists and we are off to coron (an island to the north of palawan) where there is suppose to be big wrecks and an insane fresh water lake with wicked thermoclines ranging 20-36 degrees! Yeow! Haven't set sail yet and my bum is already sore from the seats.. 8 hrs to go :)
