Kinarut, Malaysia
Better late than never, right?
I'm finally updating the blog..so, sorry for the delay.
We met up with Blassius, Christina, Leah and Elias in Copenhagen for the flight to Stockholm. Nothing too exciting on that trip. We were all pretty excited to get back to Sabah. The flights from Stockholm to Kuala Lumpur and from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu were pretty good. We had great service from the Malaysia Airlines crew. Flying with Malaysia Airlines is always a treat. Kristian loved the fact that he had his own personal screen AND that he could choose the movies, TV programs and music whenever he wanted to!
After travelling for what seemed like forever, we FINALLY arrived in Kota Kinabalu, where Danson and Jikon met up with us. Took a taxi to pick up Kristian's birthday cakes from Pink Roses Cakes. Had arranged with Emma to create Lego Star Wars cupcakes. Kristian was really excited to see what they looked like. After picking up the cakes, we went to our hotel in Kinarut; Seaside Travellers Inn. It's fantastic there. Right on the beach, very laid back, beautiful sunsets, good food. What more could you ask for?
Kristian went swimming for an hour or two before his party. Some friends of ours from Kiau arrived and it was great seeing the guys again. An Intrepid group had just finished their tour, so we also got to meet some of them. We met a couple from Denmark, Mark and Mette. So funny meeting people from home. Anyway, Mette heard Kristian speaking Danish. Oh, my God! Her facial expression was hilarious! We invited them for boller and lakrids that evening.
The party went well! Emma's cupcakes were soooo yummy! And they were so cute, too! Little R2-D2 figures. Can highly recommend Pink Roses Cakes. After putting Kristian to bed, the grown up party started. Ended up making Flaming Dr.Peppers. It was a good day.
