Hello! WOW! What a whirlwind couple of days! I'm finally here :D yayy!! I arrived late last night, the flights weren't too bad; the first one from Sydney to Los Angeles was great but 14 hours is a long time to be doing not a lot! Haha I was lucky though as the seat next to me was free so I could stretch out a bit. But the 5 hour flight from LA to new York was not so great! We were packed in like sardines!! It was pretty sucky as I couldn't sleep on either flight so I went for about 24hrs without sleeping, however, it worked out as I went straight to the hotel room and slept so no problems with jet lag yet! Hooray!
I'm currently sitting in maccas (free wifi) haha near battery park. I spent the morning with my tour group who are all pretty nice and it's a retry small group which is nice... We spent the morning on a bus seeing some of the sights. We didn't get to get off at many places but we get a lot of spare time so I'll have to go back! We were able to get off at a beautiful gothic cathedral and then the Rockefeller centre, then we ha lunch at grand central station! We then went to battery park and the 9-11 memorial site. After that we were left to our own devices... The tour guide said that the only way to learn the subway system (and the new York way of life) is to do it!! So I walked by myself (dont freak mum!!) from there to where I am now. I went to the downtown TKTS booth where they sell cheap broadway tix! So I got tickets to the matinee show tomorrow of how to succeed in business without really trying (which I'm already seeing) but more than happy to see twice!!! (stop laughing at me mum!!) As I wasn't interested in any of the others :) so that's where I'm at now, I'm About to tackle the subway to times square (wish me luck!) and then going out to dinner with the tour group tonight :)
Oh an guess whattt?? It snowed!! I was sooo excited! I was on my way to the skyline hotel where I'm staying from the airport last night And it randomly started to snow (just after a local told me he would eat his own hat if it snowed this week!!!) it was such an amazing experience! I just wanted to get off the bus and run around in it! But alas, I could not ! :( definately a highlight seeing the snow at night! It was beautiful and very cold! Haha
Until next time, Jess xx

Mum Oh wow it's fantastic that it snowed for you on your first night in the 'BIG APPLE' that is so special!!!! and your even walking and catching the subway on your own, - I'm very proud of you- I hope the rest of the tour is as good as your first day?? Great to hear everything so far is going really good. Love you xxxooxx
Marijke Oh Jess, it is so wonderful to read your adventure and to appreciate it when it is snowing. Although sometimes we get too much snow, I do love it when it is snowing at night, because it is so peaceful, and it seems more quiet outside. I hope you have a wonderful time!! Great blog!!
