Here are today's photos in Google+, where they look much better than here!
Today, 3am. I arrived in Delhi. I have so far only managed to worsen my sleep debt accumulated over the past 2 weeks working my ass off and being in the Shrek (I'm the leftmost silver guard at the back) musical with Staged In Kuwait. That probably explains my terse reviews accompanying this entry.
It's lovely to be out of Kuwait again on another adventure. It will be 18 days through the Himalayas in Kashmir, including Leh and Ladakh. Here is a video promoting it, a blog post about it and the map. This promises to be my best, longest moto tour yet! It's my 6th or so multi-day moto tour, having done ones in Cambodia, Thailand, Japan and Turkey already. This is the first paid tour I'll be doing on a moto though and I have good reason to be doing it like this I think. We'll be heading over the highest motorable mountain pass, 5000+m high! This means we'll be getting altitude sickness probably. I've had this before for 3 or so days when I went on a tour through Tibet. The headaches were not a nice experience and it was worsened by the fact I had dysentry at the time. I expect both to happen again, this being India... Which reminds me, I need to buy some alcohol hand wash.
Oh and another thing, it is DAMN hot in Delhi, about 48C!!! Just like Kuwait. This somewhat dampened my enthusiasm on today's tour of Delhi's main archaeological sites, in addition to the fact that the guide was crap and tried to read the signs to me to explain what I was looking at, right as I was reading it myself! Reminded me of Slumdog Millionaire whrn the little boy takes Taj Mahal tourists for a ride telling them tall tales about the area's ancient hoistory... At least my guide could've done that and made things more interesting.
