Gah, its early! “I don’t want to get out of this bed, it’s the most amazing thing I have ever slept in!”- Heather
I felt the same way after all the beds in Turkey despite them being as hard as a rock...but we have to get up and go home so we can sleep in our own bed, which is even better than this one. The taxi driver is right on time but he has the personality of a tree and doesn't even tell me what the fare is when we get to the airport, just grunts and points at the meter...we've had the best luck with taxi drivers on this trip!
Check in at the airport in Sofia is uneventful, we're extremely early again today so we scrape together the last of our lev, negotiate the price of the orange juice and muffin (everything is negotiable in this part of the world), then Heather streches out on a couple chairs to get a few more zzz's before the plane shows up. The flight was fairly empty so we were able to split 3 seats again and Heather took advantage of it to get some more sleep.
Getting through the Frankfurt airport was considerably harder this time; but mostly due to the terminal we arrived in and where we had to connect to. But we did manage to get to the right place and on the plane after another 20 minute bus ride around the airport to the plane parked out in the boonies. The plane is completely full and we are in 2 seat of a middle aisle of 4. Our aisle mates are a huge fat man that should have bought 2 seats and a stinky old Italian man that doesn't know 1 word of English. (This is going to be a miserable flight!) The fat man took up at least half of the old man's seat, he in turn leaned towards Heather, who leaned towards to me to avoid him, and I leaned into the aisle. MISERABLE. Why don't they have a seat at the check-in counter and make fat people sit in it to make sure they don't encroach on their neighbor's seat? What good would complaining do, there are no seats to move this fat guy to. 10 hours of misery. We have never been happier to get off a plane...we bum rush the storage bin and jump ahead of at least 15 people in the aisles to get off the plane quicker.
Back to reality, our Turkish Riviera vacation is over. Hello Houston humidity!
