Good morning last morning in Fremont! We ended our wonderful stay at our airbnb in Fremont. If anyone is travelling out this way and looking for a homey, cozy, beautiful place to stay - let me know. This place comes highly recommended! And the location is on point!
I got up early today - before 6 to enjoy the cool start to a hot day. Go figure that when I am here there is a heat avisory in Seattle where June is typicall sweatshirt weather?!? Sitting on the patio in the treetops overlooking Fremont continues to be a treat. This makes that 40 degree incline walk each evening so worth it! :)
I enjoyed about an hour watching the birds and sipping my first cup of coffee! I was joined by a very curious white cat that I name Showball. I first discovered Snowball when I left the door to the apartment open to let in the cool air and found that air wasn't all I had let in! After I chased Showball out to the patio, I joined her (?) and I watched the sunrise while she watched me! Claire then got up so that we could walk to her favorite Fremont coffee spot, The Bounty. Grace put in her order and decided to snooze a bit longer!
The girls made us all a delicious breakfast. Eggs, toast with almond butter, and amazing strawberries. The Bounty Americano was the perfect side dish.
Then the clean up, pack up began. Laundry, trying to figure out how we got all of our stuff in the suitcase in the first place and checking for all those things that fell under beds, behind couches and were stashed in drawers. It's amazing how I can settle in to a place in jsut four days!
Claire took off on her bike for home. Grace and I called an uber (this was no job for the bus) to make our way back to Claire's apartment. By now, it's about 85 and we were thankful to not have to walk/roll to the busstop and then from the busstop to claire's! We arrived and settled in to Claire's couch.
Our afternoon included a trip to University Village, a shopping area close to Claire. There we found some cool treasures, but more importantly, air conditioning! We rounded out our trip to U Village with a stop at the grocery, then each of us with a grocery sack or two, we hopped bus back to Claire's apt.
The evening was quiet: I read, Grace watched Netflix and Claire meal prepped for lunches this week. We all were just crashed in front of her oscillating fan!
Goodnight University District....
