Guess what? After the over 7 hour drive yesterday - I decided to stay at a hotel tonight. Then, it was finding one which would take a dog. Found both. Took a much needed shower.
Had to do laundry also as I took MINIMAL clothing (1 pr shorts, 1 pr pants, 2 sleeveless shirts and sweatpants to sleep in). So the picture above is where I left Tampa in the hotel room in her crate so I could take the clothes down to the lobby washing machine. I returned 15 minutes later, opened the door to the room and Tampa FLEW past me trying to escape into the hallway (don't know where she thought she was going). Anyway, I caught her by the collar and pulled her back in and scolded her. Then I found she had figured out how to completely knock out one wall of the crate. Not good. Her and I are really working at figuring each other out.
Last night she would not leave my side. She had to be touching me in some form. With a paw, her behind, her tail. She loves me as much as I love her.
Today, I decided to shop. Macy's had some clothing on sale and I need work clothing - I'm sure they are tired of my blue jeans and t-shirt with a sweater combination which I'm so comfortable in. Trying on clothing reminds me of my weight and I had to talk to myself to not be discouraged. How shallow.
Then went to the Pezz Perce museume which was very interesting. Yes, Tampa went in with me and she was amazingly wonderful. I would stop to look at an exhibit and she would sit patiently right next to my leg. I am not familiar much with history - actually, I am ignorant. I'e discovered that I have spent my life focused on family, making ends meet, our Lord, and serving others (Please, I am no saint)... and, in the process, know so little about the world around me. Types of flowers, trees, Indian tribes, etc. So, walking through this little museum at the place I am in life now was so different. I read descriptions differently. I saw the pictures and exhibits differently. I APPRECIATED in a different way. Others probably need to be 60+ to understand this... or maybe I am just strange that way.
Okay, heading out the door again. I will write more tomorrow.
Speaking of family... I love you all sooooo much. Dennis, Denise & Eric, Christina, Brett, Caleb, Norah and Brendan and Ryan and Ashley.

Rick Go get em..., thanks for the blog. What an adventure. I like the idea of doing it with minimalist attitude. Your puppy looks like a challenge, but I'm sure that is keeping you on your toes.
