England, UK
Thought i would just test out my travel journal, see if it's good or not.
I'm going to go travelling this year rather than go to uni in september. havn't applied to UCAS this year either so im a bit worried about getting that sorted out and having to arrange to be home in england at the time i need to apply..I'm not sure whether I will be able to apply from overseas because I'll have to talk to my tutors from college, get references etc. Also I guess I'll have to come back for interviews in early 2008 which is annoying! But if talk to my friends who have maybe done the same then I might be able to figure out what to do ! It might mean not leaving to go on a big trip (which involves going to one country after another and not coming home inbetween) until after UCAS application or after interviews. Not sure.
hmm... well in the past few months since I met Shane we have been to Spain together, and Austria. Went to Spain for 4 days...Malaga-Granada-Bubion and back again. Bubion is where Shane grew up, the most beautiful little pixie town in the mountains haha. When I got home from there I was telling my friends about it and turns out Tom has been there on holiday like 3 times! Such a coincidence cos Bubion isn't exactly a typical tourist destination ...his family just knew someone who was english who moved out there.
Austria was good...we flew to Salzburg airport, got a taxi to the bahnhof (train station) but we knew NO german really so had to ring Asher on a payphone and get the address where the boys were staying and also ask what train station was in german ! lol.
Then we had to walk around Salzburg for a couple of hours because our train to Innsbruck wasn't until like 1am. That was cool though because it's such a beautiful city, everything lit up and stuff...we saw LOADS of bikes on the side of the road around the trees, some chained up and some just left there on the floor..contemplated taking them, riding around the city on them and then taking them back on the way to catch our train but loads of people kept walking past so we didn't.
In the city centre i saw a tree with massive glitter balls hanging off it - like at Secret Garden festival! And in the square where the famous Mozart statue is, there was an outdoor ice rink and it was about midnight and a few people were sliding around it on their feet so we joined in. Took some photos...walked over a bridge....saw LOADS of Mozart chocolate everywhere! And I started getting f***ing cold..cos I was wearing leggings and my bum and all down the back of my legs started getting really cold and then my skin was itching loads...weird.
So we went back to the train station, and I put my longjohns on over my leggings..lol..looked a bit funny but I didn't really care. So we went into the waiting lounge which was really warm and it was completely full of people and all their stuff...quite a small room and everyone was really quiet, some people were asleep. There was a fat old man sitting by himself in the corner and suddenly he just leaned over and proceeded to fart VERY loudly. And then sat down again.
Me and Shane and these two Austrian girls sitting next to us just cracked up and I couldn't stop laughing and Shane sounded like he was choking cos he was laughing SO much!!! I had to leave the room in the end and go outside for a bit cos everyone was looking at us...they had all heard but just stared at the old guy and weren't laughing much...but we were in hysterics lol.
Later on he started mumbling to himself in german...and then that mumbling turned into ranting and mad shouting at himself/imaginary people......it was quite obvious he wasn't ...all there lol. It was quite entertaining for a while but in the end was just annoying so we went outside and waited for our train.
I can't be bothered to write any more about Austria now.
Bye.
