The morning started off as planned, and we woke up on time to walk to the bus station. We were supposed to be getting the 7.45am Greyhound to Townsville, where we had accommodation booked for a night, and were planning to visit Magnetic Island. Unfortunately, however, 7.45am came and went, and it soon transpired that the bus had been cancelled due to flooding in Townsville. Oh dear. We visited the Great Barrier Reef today! We had to get up really early to be at the harbour for 7.30am. We had chosen to go with a company called Passions of Paradise who have won loads of tourism awards. They have a fairly small catamaran as opposed to a huge boat like the other companies. It had a room with a bar and lots of tables inside, and out the front were two trampoline type things for sunbathing. The sky was a bit cloudy but we went to sunbathe anyway...

On our first full day in Australia we got up at 9ish and had some cornflakes (we bought a box and some milk yesterday to save money). We had a look online for some places to stay in Fiji as we wanted to book somewhere for the week so we didn't have to worry. We ran out of Internet time though before we came to a decision so didn't manage to book anywhere. We also found out that our campervan is hopefully sorted, although we have realised we left it a bit late so ...

Our flight from Darwin to Cairns was great - I've never been able to properly sleep on a flight before but I fell asleep before take off and woke up again at landing - perfect! We were searched by quarantine on our arrival to check for traces of soil we might have taken with us from South East Asia, but were given the all clear and made our way from the exit. Everyone in the airport was super friendly and helpful, we booked a shuttle bus for $9 (no more 14p buse...

Well we've made it to Australia! Our last day in Singapore involved getting up at around half past nine and getting ready. I checked my online banking and realised that I was being charged interest on my overdraft! I recently upgraded to an HSBC advanced account, for which I pay £6 a month but then don't get charged for overseas transactions and withdrawals, so it is worth it.
