When we woke up and looked around our free camping site in the daylight we realised why it was named RIP. We were surrounded by literally hundreds of boulders and stones with messages for the dearly departed. Kind of like camping in the middle of a graveyard.
We were freezing last night, it got down to 11degrees. The town of Tom Price is quite high 750m above sea level. We set off for the Tom Price visitors centre where we met for our Rio Tinto mine bus tour. With hard hats and safety glasses in situ off we went. The tour went for an hour and a half and Geoff loved every minute of it! Benjie was a little disappointed as he thought we would be digging for gold. Instead we learnt everything there is to know about iron ore.
The rest of the day was spent driving towards Exmouth on the coast. We stopped at another free camp about 200kms short of Exmouth. This time we were sharing our free camp with 3 cows.
