Well well well, it has been tipping it down with rain today, fun fun. Reminds us of england though so helps with the homesickness!! Hehe. We have spent the last two nights in Lake Tekapo (picture). It was absolutely gorgeous there, we stayed in a lodge on the lake front with a beautiful view of the mountains. We spent all day sunday sunbathing by the lake. It was very very hot and sunny, we both got really good tans (sarah a bit burnt) and then we realised we were pretty much lying under the hole in the ozone layer all day so that would be why. haha. but hey its all good. we paddled in the lake throughout the day but it was so cold you felt your feet were going to drop off. then at about 3 Kim had a wave of mentalness and just walked in and dunked under, we both then went in and kim went for a bit of a swim. so so so cold, its a glacial lake!! so it basically fresh melted ice. Last night we spent in christchurch again on our way up to the north island which was cool because we met up with some old friends. Today we drove to Kaikoura(think thats how you spell it) which is a lovely little seaside town, old whaling town. There are loads of whale and dolphin watching tours and also swimming with dolphins but the sea has been so choppy today they cancelled it. So we walked to see the seals, they were so cute, and about a metre away so that was cool. Anyone want to shed some light on the difference between seals and sea lions?? are sea lions just bigger?? We have just had a lurvly chippy, sarah treated Kim :D. so that was nice, off to picton tomorrow to catch the ferry to wellington. This is a beast of a journal entry so i better shut up. Keep those messages coming?!?!?! we love to see how many people are using this site. we will get pics on asap. hope your all well and not missing us too much :P
