Well well well, where to begin! Rotorua was awesome, the land just randomly bursting out steam and big pools of 80 degrees bubbling mud around the place was cool. The only problem was that because of all the geothermal activity there was loads of sulphur coming out of the ground which meant the whole place smelt like rotten eggs. Not too pleasant. its cool though because there was a big active volcano just off the coast, which is a bit scary, but if it wasnt there taking the pressure away the ground would just be exploding like... every metre all the time. so its GOOD the volcano is there. apparrently they have 800 earthquakes there a year!! 200/300 of which they can feel! me and sarah didnt feel one though which is good. Mt Maunganui was lovely too but a little bit boring. Onto Auckland which was a very nice city! We wandered around for a bit desperatly trying to avoid the shops, saw the sky tower (didnt jump off loops, figured it would be a bit greedy to canyon swing, sky dive AND do that) and then in the evening we went to go see the auckland blues play the new south wales waratahs (rugby) it was awesome, the team we were supporting won 27 6. me and sarah got right into it, we even drank beer to get with the spirit! Flew into sydney yesterday to beautiful sunny weather, it was lush. our friend vicki has been living here the past year so we met up with her for lunch and she took us for a tour around, saw the harbour bridge, the opera house, went on a ferry, to the rocks. It was really nice to meet up with someone from town who knew what they were doing!! we met up with her uncle a little later on (who we swear was only about 25) and had some drinks, before crashing out back at the hostel because we had been up since 3!! really confused with the time difference at the minute. It was 13 in new zealand then went to 12 hours after daylight saving, so then we came to oz went back an hour but its changing again tommorrow because of daylight savings. so i have no idea of the time difference. if anyone gets a call at some random late time we apologise. as the weather was so hot yesterday we figured we would hit the beach today, della doesnt get here untill monday so we have some time to kill. ok me and sarah just got really confused with the time, turns out the clocks have gone back, so we are 10 hours ahead of you guys. im gonna stop ranting now. this is a massive message. hope your all good!!
sweet as (as the new zealanders would say)
kim and sarah
