Hello world
After a long break of updating I will finally go on to tell about the bygone month.
Labwork is still interesting and there is much work to do.
My first results of preparing, isolating and purifying a certain substance were good and i'm now going to do some toxicity test in bacteria and cel culture. The difficulty: I have to work without potocols. There is no single protocol available. British labwork: Working without any protocol, create a protocol!!!! I just get some wirred words and ideas and have to establish any method. I think this is the German kind of being oganised. British people are not organised at all. At least scintists. But i is a good experience to try own things´and estblish a good method in the end.
One week ago I made a lovely loaf in the lab. The labkitchen is really amazing. One time before I will leave we’ll do some christmas cakes. I look forward to doing it.
The news from my English home: With my housemates I started doing “Come dine with me”. This is the British version of “Das perfekte Promi Diner”. Melissa and Katy were already cooking. Meli did some really lovely spicy fajitas and a great apple crumble as dessert. Katy’s dish was called “Shapard’s Pie”. This is a typical English dish made out of mince beef with vegetables and mashed potatoes on the top. The dessert was a great cheesecake. It was a lovely dish as well.
On Halloween we had selfmade squash soup and nice bread. Afterwards we watched a scary movie and had tons of sweets. It was a great evening. Thanks girls!
Few days ago I discovered “Jesmond Dene”. It is a nice park just 3 minutes away from home.
I have nice walks there if I need a walk to think.
Today I spent the day with my two friends Georgios and Costa. We drove by car to Bamburgh to visit the castle and the seaside. It was an amazing day with lots of fun. After a long journey through the countryside on the way back we had “Fish&Chips” in Almwick. It was my first fish&chips in England. I had vinegar with it and I actually like it! Afterwards we had hot chocolate, coffe and muffins in a nice café. After a walk through Almwick we returned to Newcastle.
Now I’m sitting in the living rooms with Katy and Melissa. We are watching “X Factor”. This is comparable with “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”.
Next week my sister is coming to visit me. I look forward to seeing her and having a great time with her. We will go to Edinburg, York and the seaside. Should be a great time!
In the end I wanna thank my family especially my parents for organising things in Germany with my new home in Heidelberg. They did great work with painting, moving stuff and buying furniture. They made a lovely place out of my small house. I lookforward to seeing it. Thank you very much. I love you!
