This morning we left the hotel at 9am for our hour long walk down to the KGB museum. It was a lovely morning for a walk and there was a cool breeze blowing, some passengers complained that they were cold and they had jumpers on! I had a singlet top on and I was fine, I guess I must have acclimatized.
I got to the museum on time and booked my next groups excursion and collected the guide and handed over the passengers. Right, time for some more recon. My next group is a private tour and is staying at another hotel, so it was time to go and scout it out. I was already on the other side of town and it took me a further hour to get to this hotel! What is the office playing at? My next tour is with a group of oldies, how am I supposed to get them here? I made a mental note to write a strongly worded email to the office on return to the hotel.
After my scouting mission I started my walk back to the hotel, firstly via the Church of St Anne, which is actually the main attraction here in Vilnius and which I hadn't actually seen yet. Tucked away in a back alley, this small, red brick gothic church really was a stunner. Inside, it was far from opulent and exuded a kind of humbleness. I sat in a pew for a minute to rest and reflect.
My next stop on the way home, was my favourite Lithuania restaurant Kaimas. I had fried bread, with cheese, mayonnaise and garlic sauce and pork ribs. Life is good! I then ambled back to the hotel and spent the rest of the day relaxing in my room, before hunting up some last minute McDonalds and then having a quick beer with Andy.
