We left the hotel at 9:20am this morning to get our Simple Express bus to Tallinn, as predicted it was quite late as it had gotten stuck in the same road works we were stuck in coming from Vilnius.
The bus trip was pretty uneventful and as soon as we arrived we headed out on our orientation walk. As usual I took a couple of wrong turns, I don't think I would get used to Tallinn even if I did that orientation a hundred times. Comparitively it's quite long, when you consider its actually smaller than Riga, and how anyone could possibly be orientated after it, with all the doubling back and everything looking the same I have no idea. It poured down with rain for a few minutes at the view point, but this was actually a good thing as a beautiful rainbow appeared over the little red roves of the old city.
After the orientation/lesson on how to get lost in Tallinn, we had dinner at Mad Murphy's Irish pub, the service was terrible today and if I was actually coming back I wouldn't be taking anyone in there again. I had my usual cheese balls and Irish stew, accompanied by a large Guinness.
After the pub we all went our separate ways, Tim took Andy and I down to the Port (Tim has spent a lot of time here) to see if we could get our tickets to go to Helsinki tomorrow. Everything was closed so we are getting here at 6:30am *groan* to get them tomorrow. I can't believe I'm about to risk the trip I've been warning clients about all year. If you miss the ferry back, I'm sorry but the tour will leave without you. Lets see if the passengers manage to leave without me.
We went into a nearby shopping centre after our brief inspection of the port as Andy had to get a new jacket and then we set about finding a cinema, so Tim and I could get our movie fix. I usually spend the free day in Tallinn at the movies, it's kind of a coping mechanism for my life. You could be anywhere, when you're in the movies, it's such a normal thing to do. We saw the Borne Legacy, which was a bit crap, but it was nice to sit in the cinema in good company.
When the movie finished I realized we were quite a fair way from the hotel, so we got the tram back. I have to get up at 5:30am tomorrow, and on my day off to boot! Helsinki you better be worth it!

Tim Nah, the Bourne Legacy was great. :-) Funny thing was that Louise and I went to the movies "again" next day (Expendables 2 - good for a laugh). Always good to go to Tallinn. Magical Old City.
