5am start today, I was so excited to being seeing Tim and Fiona. I had to wake the driver up at the hotel, because it was an early flight. It wasn't too bad getting to the airport as there was no traffic in downtown, because it was so early. The driver parked the car at the airport and I got out to go get Tim and Fiona. They had already come through customs and I found them pretty easily. I ran straight at Tim and he lifted me off the ground and hugged me. It was great to see both of them.
We drove back to the hotel and got them checked in and then they went off to get freshened up from their flight. We ended up going to McDonalds for breakfast and then we all went back for a sleep, as they were jet lagged and I had a late night out with Mohammed the night before.
We got back out at about 2pm, ate more McDonalds and then got a cab to the Khan el Khalili bazaar. We had so much fun shopping, I think Tim bought more tat than I did. The whole time we were there he kept poking me and saying, "Guess what? Were in Egypt!" It was great to see how excited my best friend was and it was beyond awesome having him in Egypt with me.Tim bought and Egyptian galabaya and we all had fun playing dress up with the Egyptian clothes in one shop. As I was walking along, I finally spotted and emerald green galabaya, which I had been wanting since my first day in Egypt in 2006. I also bought another lamp, surprise, surprise.
After the bazaar, we headed to the Hilton for happy hour and drank lots of cocktails. We got back to the hotel in time for the Australia vs Slovakia game, Australia won, but it was not enough to get us through to the next round. We were all pretty tired so we went off to bed at that point. I had arranged a private driver for our trip to the pyramids tomorrow and we were supposed to be leaving at 9am.
