Naval was the first to leave this morning and we reached Dubrovnik at about 11:30am. Graeme was waiting for me with a bike for me to take to Korcula, because of course I can't drive. I can't believe how awesome my boss is. I told him I was very happy with my boat and crew and he said he was too. I organised a time to meet my group for dinner and booked a restaurant.
It was now mine and Jasmin's (Dubrovnik rep) responsibility to stand on the dock for the rest of the day checking in people joining for the five day section of the cruises on Penelopa, Mlini and Naval. Fun. Oh well, at least my boat was only two deep so I didn't have to wait around on the dock the entire time. Graeme and his wife Su had set themselves up on their boat and invited Jasmin and I to have a drink with them. I can't Graeme, I said. I'm in my uniform! He looked vaguely pleased with me and said, come on, you can have a small one! You're the boss, I said back as Erik brings me a beer.
I patrolled the dock, occasionally running into people I knew, mostly Bobo again trying to get into my pants, sometimes Toni who was climbing all over the boats tying them up, Shta Ima? He would always ask. What's the word for bored, I said. Dosadno. He replied. Then Dosadno. I said. You have to say it more angry. Dosadno! I said with a funny hand movement.
My last guests checked in at 6:15pm and I proceeded to sit around chatting with people until it was time to go meet my group at the fountain for dinner. They all turned up and I took my now large group of twenty nine to Ragusa 2 where we had a lovely meal and my main man Ray (our favourite waiter) didn't charge me for mine. I then walked them all to Sky Bar where I received a text message from a number I didn't know and in very bad English, I m bobo whene you sie me tunite you cole me. Who the hell gave Bobo my number!!!! I meet Jasmin at the bar and I ask him and he says that Bono says there was something wrong with the boat and he needed to call you. Ima kill you Jasmin I say. The text messaging goes on for most of the night and I am actually having fun with it, telling Bobo he can't handle me, so I'm not too mad. Bradley the owner shows up and I say hello and he gives me a large Jack Daniels and coke. Which he doesn't need to. Don't get me wrong, I love my celebrity status here, but people don't need to keep giving me free stuff every time they see me.
I don't last too long at Sky bar, it's a Monday night and not much going on so I head back to the boat. I am woken by girls on the boat next door making a racket and I get up, put my Sail Croatia jacket on over my pajamas and tell them they need to be quiet and that the level of noise they are making is unacceptable. They heed my warning and shut up, even when I return from the bathroom, they take one look at me and shush each other. I go back to bed on my now quiet boat to head off to quiet little Mljet tomorrow.
