Today was a 7am wake up day, not a fan of these, but we knew it would be well worth it, we were up showered, dressed and out the door by 7:45 and met Pablo, Mikko and Olli for breakfast at 8am, the food was good and the service was fast, just what we needed! We then went across the road to the travel agent and was in the tuk tuk shortly after, after about a 30 min ride we were at the river and hopped in a super sketchy boat, the prospect of drowning was always on my mind to put it lightly, but it was a short distance to the elephant area at Tad Sea Waterfalls, we could get up right close to them and we got a few photos, after about 10 mins a few freed up from other people riding them and we could get on, Jed and I shared an elephant for the trek and half way through our driver got off and ran around taking photos which was really cool! After about a 45 minute trek (going through the river too) we walked ourselves upstream where we got on the elephants again to go bathing with them, this time Jed and I had no seat and no driver, we were just sat on the elephant and it moved around the river and randomly submerged itself, at one point I was completely under water and thankfully the elephant came back up after about 5 seconds, it was an amazing experience and one of my favourite to far, we also were able to feed the elephants bananas by hand and they were very docile the whole time, anyone who visits the area should defiantly do the whole package it's so incredible, after we were done with the elephants we jumped in the river by the waterfall and cooled off with a swim before spying a rope swing, naturally we got it going and fly gracefully in the air before crashing into the stream a good few times.
Shortly after we dried off we then went jungle trekking for a good 40 minutes and in this time built up a huge sweat due to the humidity, this led to yet another swim on our return swiftly followed by lunch, a well earned Thai green curry! We then set back on the super sketchy boat and tuk tuk to the town centre were we headed back to our digs and got showered as chilled before going to Utopia again for a couple beers, after dark set in we found a cheap local restaurant and ate our full after all the Finnish lads had turned up at Utopia also and we then set off to the bowling alley as we heard this is where the after party happens, we arrived at the bowling alley to find it empty and were told by the tuk tuk driver it gets buzzing at 11pm... It was 9pm, so we laughed it off and had a game of bowling between the 5 of us, it hasn't even reached 10 by the time we finished so we packed up shop and left, after waving down a passing tuk tuk we parted ways with the Fins and headed home to crash out after a long and absolutely incredible day!
