Hey guys!
So after a week of waiting in Mui Ne for wind to kitesurf I am leaving for Saigon (ho Chi Min city) empty handed. The wind that was promised never came, and instead was replaced with rain. I leave here with a strange feeling but i can't really tell you why. I had more fun and sun in Nah Trang, met more people there and did more things. I have mainly spent this week waiting for the wind and chilled out in the meantime. It wasn't meaningful chill out time though, as after waiting so long for the wind i began to become a bit restless. I have however saved a lot of money and will just have to wait to pursue this fruitless sport somewhere else in the world, possibly thailand. The surf entertained me as i spent a lot of time getting washed up onto the beach very dizzy. Large waves are very impressive and always assert their power which quickly makes you respect natures power. My local restaurant also served as a haven for me, avoiding the rain and recovering from a hangover. The main attraction, over some of the cheapest prices in vietnam whilst having the best spot on the beach, was the three puppies that roamed the floors searching for food and play time. You couldn't help but have a cuddle and they were the first animals i dared to touch here. I couldn't help but feel sorry for their circumstance and future and wish the best for them. I also found a cool spot to hang out in the evenings. Joe's is open 24 hours 7 days a week, and has live music every night, an almost unlimited selection of movies to watch in the comfort of a bedded attic with surround sound and popcorn.. the full cinema experience. Some friends of mine enjoyed playing a set and turned out to be so impressive, even the local guitarist wanted him to continue. It was one of those magical moments that only happen a couple of times and i appreciated every minute of it. So mixed feelings, this is a cool place with nice people, few stayed as long as me and the weather was crap but i wish this place all the best for future travellers.
I did enjoy my last day in Dalat however. I spent the day with an "easy rider" guide who i drove around the countryside on his harly replica. I was very impressed as i stood under a very large waterfall, a unique experince that literally took my breath away! I learnt about how silk is made and suffered a shot of the local rice wine, vietnams version of vodka. Photos will follow shortly.
So i only have until the 4th to get out of this country before my visa runs out. Two days in Saigon and a dash for the border so the next time you'll hear from me will most likely be from Cambodia where i plan to hire a motorbike and drive around the country! Exciting :-)
love to all X

Dad & Mum It seems you were able to make yourself at home and had some good fun! Do you have to hire a motorbike, are you sure your licence works over there? You've seemed to have had as many hangovers over there as you had at Uni ! you'll run out of Alka Seltzers!! Lots of love, and take care! M & D x x
