Back on the straight road again leaving Sarble, we stopped off for some gas and the obligatory baguette.
The gas was the easy bit, the boulangerie is usually just inside the store, not this supermarket! Once I'd found the bread and picked up some fruit, thought, better get a bottle of wine, of course. Got to the checkout with my cash and was told "non". Not quite understanding it turned out that this supermarket only took cards, no cash, fortunately I had mine with me.
We carried on until we got to the motorway and found a new service station to stop for coffee as we had 300km to do today and it was 12.15pm. All the French were stopping for lunch but we found a parking space for Pierre and a bench and sat in the warm sunshine. One interesting observation, was the size of the baguette they were eating, it was the size of a normal loaf of bread
